64% say NO to Goodger burn – survey results

Recently the ALP Minister for Environment & Heritage Protection and Minister for National Parks & the Great Barrier Reef, Hon Stephen Miles MP announced $12 million allocated for the protection and preservation of the dwindling koala population within the South East.  The Goodger reserve is a koala habitat.

The Department of Natural Resources and Mines advised SB Free Press that the Vegetation Management Act does not have any legislation governing the acts of fire, either accidental or purposely lit.   Their main concerns would relate to any endangered species being effected within the area.
